Did you know that every Tuesday iTunes gives not only one free single of the week, but three? And one of them is the Cancion de la Semana, or free Latin song of the week. Sometimes they're crap, but sometimes they're good, like this week's. This week's song is Me Puedo Matar, by Bachata Heightz. Check it out:
I planned on featuring these on Tuesdays... it just kinda made sense to me to do it on the day they come out, ya know... but I was lazy this week. Or busy. Take your pick. In any case, I like this week's song, it's a good mix of traditional Latin sounds and R&B, and it's pretty laid-back, easy listening.
We got a suggested feature from my friend Andrew, this song by Sigur Ros, an Icelandic post-rock group that, according to Wikipedia, is known for it's melodic and minimalist effects. Not gonna lie, it's not really my kind of music, but maybe some of you will like it :D And Andrew's advice? Listen to it with headphones, in the dark.
Stay tuned for the next post, I've found some awesome Latvian pop music :D

Urban Symphony's NEW SINGLE!
Remember Urban Symphony, the Estonian group that in my opinion should have won second place in Eurovision last year (after Alexander Rybak, of course :)? If not, here's a refresher:
Oh gosh, I adore that song.
ANYWAY.
Turns out they came out with another single back in July! Who knew? Here's their new single, Paikese Poole:
In other news, I realize that I'm not the only one who knows anything about international music, and I definitely don't have everything that's out there! If you have music you want to share, leave a comment, send me a link, email me or something, and I'll see if I'd like to post it.
Happy listening!

Youkoso!
Some people write blogs in order to vent, some write journal entries, but some - some write with a different purpose.
*cue heroic music*
I write to you, my friends, in order to expose you to international culture; specifically, international music. Well, international pop/rock music- you know, the good stuff. The fun stuff. Stuff that too many Americans never hear because our media, for some strange reason, only focuses on music in the English language. And we all know there is SO much more out there!
And let's face it, you missed my music updates :D
*/end heroic music*
There is WAY too much music to show you for just this post, so I have to limit myself to 2 right now. So... to baptize my new blog, I give you La Tribu de Dana, by French hip hop band Manua, which is an oldie (came out in 1998), but a goodie; and Mentia, by Argentinian rock band Miranda. (The main singer looks like Spock. Really, check it out.)
(La Tribu de Dana is an awesome mix of hip hop, pop, and Celtic. Bit different from your normal American pop ;)
Enjoy!
